Who are Plymouth Lip Fillers for?

We are starting this blog with our most popular treatment; our Plymouth lip filler service. We see a wealth of clients all wanting this service for a number of reasons:

  • Those that have very thin lips or small lips
  • Lips that have lost their volume due to ageing
  • Men that want fuller lips
  • Younger women that want the ‘wow’ factor
  • Clients that want to fight the signs of ageing

There are no age restrictions (apart from the fact that you have to be over 18) and both men and women come to us for this popular treatment.

How Long do Lip Fillers Last?

Our Plymouth lip fillers can last between 6-12 months however, we see many people on a more regular basis to ensure they keep that volumous plump effect.

The fillers contain Hyaluronic Acid which is something that is naturally present in the body. Unfortunately, it naturally breaks down in the body over time, especially as we age. When you have fillers that contain HA, it tends to take 6-12 months for them to break down, after which point the effects will disappear. Often though, when we see people for the second of subsequent appointment, you can still notice the effects of the previous treatment.

Everyone is different so there are no hard and fast rules as to how long the treatment last, just like any procedure, you decide when you are ready for a top up.

How Much do You Need?

We have a wealth of experience when it comes to lip filler injections and know just by looking at someone, how much filler is needed to get the best results. Everyone is different and while some people want a slight enhancement to improve their lips to more of an average size, others want that plump lip effect that is really noticeable.

The filler is measured in ml and the average amount is approximately 1ml however some people like more. It’s important to ensure that we don’t give someone too much. It can be better to have a little, and then have them topped up if required. You can discuss all of this with us beforehand via video consult or by sending pictures. It’s a good idea to have pictures of the type of look you want to achieve as well.

Your Plymouth Lip Fillers Service Appointment

When you arrive for your appointment, you will be required to fill in a medical history form to ensure that we are aware of any adverse reasons why our Plymouth lip fillers treatment may not be not suitable.

To ensure that you don’t feel the injections so much, we will apply a numbing cream and allow that to work before we carry out the injections. This means that the apart from a small injection, you shouldn’t feel any pain. The whole appointment should take around half an hour. The results are almost immediate and you will be able to see the effects straight away.

After Your Filler Treatment

Because of the numbing treatment, and the fact that you have had injections in your lips, they will feel huge immediately after but you will be pleasantly surprised when we hand you a mirror. We love to see the reaction of our clients when they see the lips that they have been longing for.

Of course, you should be prepared for some bruising and swelling in the 48 hours following the appointment so don’t be alarmed by this. It will soon settle down but we advise that you have the treatment done when you don’t have plans for the next couple of days. Not everyone gets the bruising and swelling as a side effect but it’s always good to be prepared.

Your Lip Filler Questions Answered

Before we leave you, we thought we would take this opportunity to look at some of your most popular Plymouth lip filler questions and give you the answers you need.

How much do lip fillers cost?

At the time of writing this, our lip fillers cost £150 for 1.1ml. This is the average dose that we administer for our clients. Some need more, some a little less. We charge a minimum of £150 for this treatment.

Does 1ml of lip filler make a difference?

As per the above, we usually work on a dosage of 1.1ml. This is enough to deliver noticeable results however, everything depends on the individual and how big/small their lips are to begin with and how noticeable they want the results.

Is 2ml a lot of lip filler?

1.1ml is the average dose and at 2ml, this would give some too much volume. If you are looking for that really plump look then 2ml would be ok however, we would suggest starting off with a smaller dose and building up to this. It’s easier to add more than it is to end up with too much in the first instance.

Can you feel lip fillers when kissing?

Yes, this is really question that gets asked. Good quality lip fillers mimic the lips own natural texture and therefore, once any initial swelling has subsided, you, or the person you are kissing, should not be able to notice and difference.

Do lip fillers look bigger at first?

There is a possibility that your lips may be slightly swollen following the treatment but any swelling will soon subside.

How painful is lip filler?

The process of having lip fillers involves injecting fillers into the lips which can feel a little sore however, we use a numbing cream first so that you don’t feel the injections as much as you would prior to this.

How long does 1ml lip filler last?

the amount of time that lip fillers last depends very much on the individual. What can last 6 months on one person could last mot quite as long or longer on another.
