Plymouth dermal filler trends

Dermal fillers are becoming more and more sophisticated with results that traditionally could only have been achieved with corrective surgery. Surgery is an extremely expensive option, not to mention painful with long recovery times and even then who is to say you will like the end result? We take a look at the benefits of injectable fillers and some popular dermal filler trends.

Let’s start by looking at the benefit of dermal fillers and why they are considered preferable to surgery:

  • Cheaper – the low hundreds rather than mid-high thousands
  • Less downtime – in most cases you are in and out within the hour with no downtime
  • Less painful – a few injections rather than reconstructive surgery which can take weeks to heal
  • Temporary – great if you aren’t happy with the end result and you want more
  • No bruising or obvious after effects
  • Less risk – painful surgical procedures often require general anaesthesia

Imagine just how awful it would be to take off the bandages after reconstructive surgery to realise that you don’t actually like it or to have people asking you why you are covered in bruises/bandages. That’s why dermal fillers are becoming a more popular choice with many.

So, what sort of dermal filler trends are we seeing more of at the moment?

Lip Fillers

Probably our most popular service, we have been providing Plymouth lip fillers for a a number of years now with Russian lips becoming a more and more popular choice. We can share many examples of this procedure which focuses more on the height of the lips than on the volume. Russian lip fillers get their name from the style of lips that you see on Russian/Babushka dolls.

Jaw Augmentation

If you want a more structured jaw, with a stronger jaw line and greater definition, or you want to create a more angular jaw with a more pronounced chin, jaw fillers are a much less expensive, and a far less invasive procedure than undergoing constructive surgery. They produce impressive, instant results. Typically this type of filler will last 9 months to a year however, everyone is different and what may be effective for a certain period of time for one person may be much less for another.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty doesn’t have to involve invasive surgery. In fact, liquid rhinoplasty involves injecting fillers into the nose to smooth out lumps and bumps and give it a more aesthetic look. This treatment is very popular with those that have a pronounced dorsal hump or a droopy tip. Strategically placed fillers can smooth out the nose and lift the tip. If you have a very small nose, fillers will help to accentuate the shape and give a more defined appearance.

Cheek fillers

Cheek injections have become increasingly popular of late with more of our clients asking for cheek fillers. A popular dermal filler trend, some might say that they are becoming the new lip fillers as women, and men, look to increase the volume around and above the cheek bones for a fuller, younger looking appearance. This illusion of a more structured, contoured face is the aim. If you want softer cheeks with natural looking volume then they are definitely a treatment to consider.

Heart Shaped Face

The heart shaped face is becoming popular with many women who prefer this look over a square, angular face. It involves projecting the chin, lifting the cheeks and neck and injecting into the temples to open the brow and eyes up, making the face look thinner. This procedure involves having dermal filler injected into more areas and can take longer than our more standard procedures but we are more than qualified and experienced to carry out advanced dermal filler techniques to give you the desired results.

Whether you want fillers in one area or several, our Plymouth dermal filler services are available right here in our Plymouth clinic by a qualified and experienced aesthetician. Every procedure starts with a consultation where we get to know more about what you are looking to achieve before advising you on the best treatment course.
